Plus, the immense happiness that comes from having all of it.

If you are planning to start blogging in 2022, then I strongly encourage you to stop thinking about it and start doing it. It will almost certainly be one of the best decisions of your life.

20 reasons why you should start blogging in 2022

Here are 20 reasons why you should start a blog in 2022…

1. GIVE YOU CREATIVITY OUTSIDE

Blogging gives you a creative outlet to share your thoughts, ideas, and passions. It’s like having your own magazine where you’re both the writer and the editor. You can decide what goes into your online journal AND you can also write all the articles. Your creativity and personality are not restricted by your boss or editor – you have the creative freedom to write what you like.

2. IMPROVE YOUR WRITTEN SKILLS

Writing one or two blog posts a week has an amazing effect on your writing skills. It’s the same with all skills – the more you do, the better skills you get.

When I go back now and look back at some of the blog posts I wrote when I started in 2015, I cringe – but at the time I thought they were great! This rather stark comparison makes it very clear to me how much I have grown as a writer.

3. POSITION YOU ARE THE PROFESSIONAL

Blogs are a great way to showcase your expertise on a topic and establish your authority. If you write a good blog in a tight niche, you will quickly become famous in that niche and become an authority on that topic.

4. OPEN THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY

Being known as an expert and an authority in your niche can open all kinds of doors for you – e.g. media opportunities, brand partnerships, published posts. sponsorships, book deals, experiences of this kind that can’t be bought, and more.

5. DEVELOP YOUR PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

The great thing about blogging is that you don’t have to start becoming an expert – many very popular blogs were started by people who didn’t have any expertise, but have continued to develop their expertise in the field. their blogging process – for the example of weight loss bloggers who started their blog to document the steps they took to lose weight and who now use their blog to teach people different ways to lose weight.

Or finance bloggers who started their blogs to share how they are trying to pay off their mortgage early and now teach others how to manage their finances.

6. EARN YOU A LOT OF MONEY

You can absolutely make good money from blogging. Bloggers monetize their blogs in a variety of ways – often with a combination of ads, affiliate links, sponsored posts, products, and services.

Bloggers who work hard and focus on monetizing their blogs often make more money blogging than they could hope to earn from traditional jobs. (Case in mind: I now make more money per month from my blog than EVERY YEAR at my most recent regular job!)

7. ALLOWS YOU TO BECOME YOUR OWN BOSS

Blogging allows you to be your own boss, work the hours you want, and call the spikes. You can make all the decisions about what you will write, how you will grow your blog, how much time each week you will spend on your blog, and how you will monetize your blog. You don’t have a boss or editor to sign and be free to work the way you want.

8. TEACH YOU AUTOMATICALLY

Of course, the downside of not having a boss is that you have to be on your own to be successful. But I can tell you that nothing is more motivating than knowing that the hard work you put in will result directly in your bank balance! Blogging teaches you valuable life lessons in self-motivation, goal setting, planning, and good time management.

9. INCREASE YOUR CONFIDENCE

Blogging will definitely increase your confidence. I remember when I started blogging, how nervous I was to put the words ‘out there – it was a super scary prospect. But little by little blogging has boosted my confidence to the point where, not only am I confident enough to write and share my knowledge, ideas, and views on my own blog, but I am also confident enough. Trust me to cover my knowledge through courses, events and even standing in front of many people to share my opinion at a conference. And, of course, nothing boosts confidence like being able to say you built your own highly profitable business from the ground up!

10. DEVELOP YOUR TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

Back when I started my blog in 2015, I had no tech skills – okay, I could email, write Word documents, and buy content from the internet, but that was the limit! Contrary to popular belief, you really don’t need to be a ‘technologist’ to start a blog. Sure – blogging has a tech side, but it’s easy to learn the basics and little by little you pick up the rest… and there are always other bloggers out there to help if you get stuck. towel!

11. GREAT BLOG COMMUNITY

One of the HUGE advantages of starting a blog is the GREAT blogging community. While technically ‘other bloggers’ are your competition, in reality, they are your colleagues, your friends, your support network, and your cheerleaders.

Have problems with your blog? The blogging community will help you. Have a bad day? The blogging community will cheer you on. Hit a blogging milestone that only other bloggers can really ‘get’? The blogging community will celebrate with you. Insomnia at 2am? There is always some other blogger on hand to chat with.

15. CAN LEAD TO A BUY OF BOOKS ONLY

If your dream is to write a book, blogging could be the first step on the ladder to landing that publishing deal. I personally know many bloggers who landed their first book deal thanks to their blog.

Blogs help you get book deals in a number of ways – they showcase your expertise on the subject, they showcase your writing skills, and they demonstrate in a very clear way to writers. publishers and potential agents that have an audience for your book ideas. Even better, you have an integrated platform to market your book once it’s published!

16. CAN LEAD TO COMMUNICATION OPPORTUNITIES

Or perhaps your dream is to write for magazines or newspapers or go on radio or TV. Again blogging can be a great avenue to get there. Blogging demonstrates your authority on a topic and if that topic becomes a topic in the media, you can seize the opportunity to fulfill your media dreams – I know a lot of bloggers regularly appear on TV / be interviewed on the radio / write for print about the power of their blogs.

17. TEACHING YOU NEW THINGS

As a blogger, you are a mix of all professions – you are a writer, editor, photographer, designer, journalist, marketing department, finance department, sales team, and department. tech support, all in one. This may seem daunting when you’re just starting out, but it’s actually a lot of fun because it gives you a huge scope to learn new skills.

I learned and developed a lot of new skills as a blogger – for example, I studied photography, food styling, SEO, and basic accounting. I learned how to build a website from scratch, how to promote my blog on social media, how to create and launch a digital product, how to host a blogging conference, and much more. again!

18. ALLOWS YOU TO SAY ‘NO’ TO WHAT YOU DON’T WANT TO DO

In a traditional job, you have to do what you are asked to do. That includes doing aspects of your work that you don’t particularly enjoy. And it often means doing things you don’t think are included in your job description!

With blogging, you get to pick and choose what you do, what opportunities you say yes and no, which brands you partner with and which brands you don’t work with, which blogging activities you do. do it yourself and you outsource it or simply skip it. It is entirely up to you and you can tailor your blogging schedule to suit your personality, skills, and interests.

19. INCREDIBLE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

I find it hard to put into words the tremendous journey of self-development and self-development you go through as a blogger. It’s more than just learning new skills and the confidence you get when you start and grow a successful business.

Basically, it changes who you are. It teaches you to be more patient, more resilient, take risks, seize opportunities, say no to the wrong and pursue the right things, spend money wisely, plan carefully, set goals, Resourcefulness, good time management, quick learning, and much more. I can say without a doubt that I am a better person by blogging.

And last, but not least, you should start a blog because blogging is so much fun! Blogging is a complete whirlwind: there are good days and bad days, but the good days are FAR more than the bad ones… and there aren’t many jobs that actually pay you to chat with friends in the middle of the day (AKA ‘important social media’)!
